Uganda Travel Guide
Uganda,
once the “Pearl of British Empire” in East Africa,
is one of the most beautiful countries
on the continent. One-Sixth of the area is covered with water. Along its western
boundary lies Africa’s
highest mountain range. The Ugandans
claims the source of the Nile is at Jinta where it leaves Lake
Victoria.
Uganda has had more than its share of turmoil. In spite of this, the people are among the friendliest on the continent. Adventurous travelers can venture there and can enjoy the “pioneer” status.
The country's progress was brutally interrupted in early 1999 when Rwandan rebels murdered eight tourists who had traveled to Uganda to view the mountain gorillas in Bwindi National Park. It was not the first incident where travelers were harmed.
